Local-first Privacy
Local-first by default
AutoPilot is built to keep your work on your own machine. By default, your project data stays local and is never sent anywhere automatically. This means you can use AutoPilot on private, proprietary, or sensitive codebases with confidence about where your data lives.
What stays on your machine
The following are stored locally on your computer:
- Your tickets
- Your project memory
- Your settings
- Your workflow history
This data remains on your device and is not uploaded as part of normal use.
What AutoPilot does not collect
AutoPilot does not automatically collect any of the following:
- Your source code
- Your prompts
- Your logs
- Your screenshots
- Your project files
None of these leave your machine as part of AutoPilot’s standard operation.
License checks
To validate your plan, AutoPilot performs license checks. These checks send only license and account metadata. They do not send your code, prompts, or project files. For more detail on what license metadata covers, see Plan & license.
Scanning existing projects
When AutoPilot scans an existing project, the scan runs locally on your machine. The contents of your project are read on-device and are not transmitted to our servers. See Scan an existing project for details.
Support attachments
Anything you share with support is optional and fully under your control. Support attachments are never collected automatically — you decide what, if anything, to attach when you reach out. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.
